Our community picnic is being held on the anniversary of the 1963 "March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom." It was on this day that Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous "I have a Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. AOTB is an integrated community due in large part to the events that took place that day in 1963. To honor that event and the positive changes that it brought to American society and our community we are planning to commemorate it with the following activities at the picnic.
· At 3:30 we will have those members of the AOTB community who attended the March on Washington speak to us (under 5 minutes per person).
· At 3:45 we will announce the winners of the March on Washington Contest for kids from AOTB.
