It took over three years, but the Beach Improvement project is complete.

We now have a hybrid “living shoreline” erosion control and beach restoration system.

Construction of the shoreline erosion control system included grading, the removal of the old ¬†bulkhead and breakwater structures, construction of new repositioned breakwater structures, and beach restoration The planting of native grasses (both ground/surface and sub aquatic vegetation), bushes and shrubs specific to our region created and stabilized the “living shoreline.”
