BEACH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
It took over three years, but the Beach Improvement project is complete.
We now have a hybrid “living shoreline” erosion control and beach restoration system.
Construction of the shoreline erosion control system included grading, the removal of the old bulkhead and breakwater structures, construction of new repositioned breakwater structures, and beach restoration The planting of native grasses (both ground/surface and sub aquatic vegetation), bushes and shrubs specific to our region created and stabilized the “living shoreline.”
